Underneath the Stars from the 4:13 album, live in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 16th, 2008.

Underneath the Stars is probably the best song of the 4:13 album but many claim is not as good as Plainsong as an opening song for a Cure concert. I agree.

The drummer, Jason Cooper, was "inspired" by the pattern recorded by Boris Williams for the song called Uyea Sound from the Lost Wishes EP. Jason put his own tradermark style to it with lots of cymbals in the chorus of the song and the half-open hi-hats played in quarter and 8th notes...

The camera work, specially for this song, is very good.

This song reminds me Disintegration or Wish era a lil bit, but the drum pattern is wrong, something is missing there, I dunno, this song could sound really nicer with a different drum pattern, The Cure sound is not about one hundred "crashes" in a single bar lol

yes, no one can do this but The Cure... BUT they did better in the "Boris Williams era" where the albums had better songs and superb production.

I think this song is the best of the 4:30 but not good enough for The Cure, I think with a better drummer cold be sound good, is sad to hear a weak dramming playing this days in The Cure =(
