This is the original wudang taijiquan form created by Zhang san-feng on wudang shan. Notice that it is distinct in its own style and flavor as Master Zhong Yun performs it. Despite his lack of space he still moves like a slow river changing from substantial to insubstantial yin/yang. He starts with a little wuji qigong or zhong ding as some like to say; while digging his feet into the earth just before moving. Many techniques here are very different than any family style that you may have seen, while others are more similar like his "single whip". His Lu jin is different in many ways because his lead hand does not fall down with his rear hand, which comes back up for Ji. His An jin is performed as if he has ran out of space as you will notice at 0:50- 0:55, but still flows smoothly. Notice his moving of his feet is different from the straight line stepping that is seen in many family styles of Taijiquan.

  • I've heard from many people that Zhang San Feng was more than just 1 person who lived in seperate dynasties. But I do not believe this, because if he was a genuine taoist who truly understood the tao then it is very possible he could have existed well beyond these two dynasties. He may even exist to this day...

  • Which Feng, Ming or Yuen dynasty? noce movements.... elegant

  • thanks for sharing! there aren't many videos of zhongyunlong performing forms!

  • @Kepheri There is much wisdom in your position when one is aware and practices the way of Taoist Alchemy, travels the Cinnebar Fields (microcosm) and Far Country (Macrocosm). He may just be an immortal in fact he probably is an immortal. If so, then he was definitely concealing the fact to the uninitiated. Perhaps his Yuen Dynasty writtngs that we now study is a result of his own broadening of knowledge. Please give commentary on the vid im sending. Thanks for responding

  • right on... been looking for some footage of Zhong doing this form. I learned the 13 from one of his students, Master Chen Shixing, on Mount Wudang. I wanted to compare their styles... thanks, Kepheri!
