@KheftiuAsarButchiu they're a specific sect and cob sings almost exclusively about death, (except for covers of course). They were also named after a surprising murder case, and you could technically say that death themselves, did something at least close to the technical/melodic spectrum for an album, yet I'm not sure if I would call wintersun melodic death metal. It checks out in my book, so I'd say that's an answer.
