Eric Clapton is a great guitarist. Prince is the most prolific and best 20th century composer, within which he is also a great guitarist.

@bigrich2687 I think it's because Prince is more famous for his deep lyrics and his ability to make hits, not his guitar playing. Eric Clapton is way more known for his soloing work and remarkable riffs, but i agree that he deserved a better position in this list.

@bclouser100: I've watched this video hundreds of times. I've zoomed in, slowed down, you name it.
The only conceivable conclusion that I have found is that his guitar, spent from the exertion of Prince whipping out that massive solo on it, simply vaporizes when he tosses it into the air.
