@BlacksAreBeautiful Can you name any modern "industrial" country that has had a revolution? You can't use 19th and early 20th models for 21st century situations. The closest example might be Hugo Chavez in Venezuela.

BTW this is why I think the modern shifts will be guerilla vs "mass" actions. When social constructs become "Titanic" the small and nimble have advantages. Green Party has the right idea being both international yet decentralized, just like the internet.

@seecraig Again, I hear what you're saying. It would be helpful if you could cite an example where a people have actually voted in a revolution?

@BlacksAreBeautiful it takes "guerilla" tactics for the "under resourced" to challenge a well equipment system. Voting is but one tactic. Whether it's money (5% national) or ballot access (local) it develops resources for organizing and outreach. Winning an election isn't the start of change but the end result of seeds planted in the grassroots. If the system is to change, elections have a role to play. You can't change the system unless you take Action which has Consequence.

@BlacksAreBeautiful with that said, Cynthia McKinney was one of a very few people in Congress that I thought were sincere and would actually support if I truly felt it would make a difference. Ron Paul would be the other, and perhaps there are a few others, but none I can really think of.

@seecraig I hear you, but I think the real myth is thinking that the oligarchs of this world have gone to such elaborate lengths to mentally enslave the masses, thus keeping us heavily reliant on them for food clothing and shelter, just to have such a simple process as voting which they essentially created and are constantly manipulating, actually lead to their downfall! Hope and change turned out to be Continuity "THEY" can believe in. I say they, because I didn't even waste my time!

@BlacksAreBeautiful Voting has a major impact which is why they try to keep alternate party candidates off the ballot off the ballot or make them invisible when they get on.

All it takes is 5% of the popular vote for alternate party to get MILLIONS of dollars in funding. As long as you've bought into the myth that voting doesn't count, you're part of the problem.

In NY State, the Green Party needs just 50,000 votes to win ballot status and then many Greens can run and WIN locally.
