  • @kittydreamz86 no it's not the first time belly dance was ever seen in the states was performances by a woman called little egypt who performed at the chicago world fair in 1893. That is when it got poplar in the states

  • @kittydreamz86 there is historical written documentation as well as dance scenes on the walls of the Egyptian temples. Belly Dance is the oldest recorded dance in the world

  • @winnie475 actually it isn't i have the same came it's made from bamboo so it's really hollow and light, it's not the greatest to use because it's so light it won't stay on my head when I try to balance it :P not happy about that at all

  • @kittydreamz86 Your not fully understanding this, the best belly dancers in the arab world are EGpyptian the most people in the arab world who dance are egyptian, there is not a wedding in egypt where there isn't a belly dancer and people belly dancing, belly dancing was discovered exactly 4000 years ago in Egypt and that's a fact. It's our tridition. there isn't an egyptian movie without belly dancing in it. search samira saeed. Scientists who knw more than you discovered it!!!!

  • @egyption0ghetto *sigh* the point is,There's no way to know exactly what movement the picture is meant to be making because it can't move... and it's possible/likely/probable that other people did the dance and didn't draw pictures of it either.

I'm not saying there aren't deep roots in Egypt and you're right to be proud of your country and region's history. It's still impossible today to say who exactly started a modern dance or where it began. Just when it became popular.

  • @kittydreamz86 Are you mad? I Know my own history!!! the first mouvement of bellydancing is drawn on the walls! come to Egypt and check it out! it then evolved in the rest of the arabic countrys! plus the name "Saidi" that you see up there is a region in Egypt and i am from it!!!!!

  • @egyption0ghetto 1. You can't "discover" a dance. 2. How could you possibly prove that? It's an ancient dance... and dances are hard to document. Because pictures don't move.

  • But thats a really heavy walking stick!
