I was on this ol' dispicable game show called Friend or Foe where you build a jackpot together with a partner they assign you, then at the end you decide whether to screw your partner over or not. The flaw in the game is, the "partner" isn't really a "friend" but a total stranger they paired you up with an hour earlier. So! I am secure in my decision, as it is only a game show ;) .. BUT! More importantly, I was more concerned with how I was going to get my impersonation of my girlfriend's silly dog Zeek's face (a Lhasa Apso with those crazy lil underbites) gratuitously showcased on national television.. turns out the high-tension music and dramatic camera fades during the bonus round proved to be appropriate for the task. =U

  • Douchebag - you might of gotten in her pants if you went friend!

  • Hm. $4500 or a one-night-stand with a total stranger.. i think there are better deals on craigslist :p

bonus: kinda funny that a guy who says the douchebaggiest thing ever is using the word douchebag. irony!

  • Let's think about it: chose friend and you either walk away with nothing or half OR chose foe and you either walk away with all of it or none.

Who the hell wouldn't chose foe?

  • I thought long and hard on the plane ride out there, and that was my very same conclusion. These people you are paired up with are not "friends", they're total strangers that are on a game show with you. F 'em :p

  • This came on before "Russian Roulette" every night.

  • I like the game show "Friend or Foe" but I understand why this game show is only shown in reruns now. For one thing, this game show pays less than most game shows. Second, you made the right choic in picking foe because the friend choice is guaranteed at the most half the money and the foe choice is guaranteed at the most all of the money! Also, the worst case scenario for both of them is going home without winning, so picking foe is better.Realizing that causes problems for the show.

  • @DallasMorningNews The answer? Someone who isn't greedy. The "prisoner's dilemma" is an argument that has been played out on game shows several times. These days people are only concerned about their own well being and damn the consequences. More worried about increasing their own reward, even though their overall winnings would be greater if they cooperated. One just gives you money. The other gives you money, and possibly a friend for life. But I guess that second prize isn't enough.

  • i used to love this show, but the *actual* flaw was that it made no sense to EVER go friend. Seriously, what would it have accomplished? if you go foe, you either get all the money or none, and if you get none, it's b/c the other person also went 'foe.' Wouldn't you rather just go foe and either have all the money or have the satisfaction of knowing that you chose correctly by stopping the *other* player from taking all of the money?

  • We had a game like this in England called Golden Balls, was actually quite riveting to watch

  • @lobstertexas You better of bought yourself a damn good hooker afterwards then

  • this show sucks'

  • If u both go friend then u split the money, if one person goes foe then they get the money, if u both go foe then u both don't get any of it

  • @Not2Sane Actually, you're wrong. This isn't a typical Prisoner's Dilemma model. If both people pick foe, both of them get nothing. Normally what makes picking "foe" every time the correct choice is the fact that there is SOME payoff for both players picking foe that is worse than the friend-friend option and winning a foe-friend situation.

Plus on the show you can read body language or judge a person on how likely they are to pick friend or foe, so picking foe every time is not ideal.

  • this is the stupidest show ever, why on earth would someone go friend? no matter what the other person does youre better off going foe

  • Anyone who has ever studied a bit of game theory knows that it is in your best interest to go foe.
