Islam does NOT call for violence; rather it abhors all forms of violence and terrorism, whether against Muslims or non-Muslims. Islam, moreover, calls for peace, cooperation, and maintaining justice, and provides for the happiness and welfare of humanity as a whole.
Allah says in the Quran:
Allah commands doing justice, doing good to others, and giving to near relatives, and He forbids indecency, wickedness, and rebellion: He admonishes you so that you may take heed. (Soorah An-Nahl 16:90)

Statements like these are responsible for terrorism.

Mr. refering to a verse out of context wont help us in proving our point. The whole chapter of Surah Taubah no.9 deals with the Pagans of Makkah who broke the treaty signed between Muslims and the Pagans of makkah and so after transgressed all the boundries Allah commanded the Muslims to fight for justice . And Ayat no.5 comes in the context of war against the pagans of Makkah.

Reading Ayat no.5 states " If any of the idolaters asks for peace then protect him so that they may hear the Word of Allah and afterward convey them to his place of safety. This is because they are people who know not."

Which army general would ever ask there soldiers during war to bring there enemy to a place of protection if they ask for peace??

I totaly agree with Dr.Zakir that lot of non-muslims have done crimes in the past but that is not the justification for muslims to do crimes in the present. present is more important that the past.

Dr.Zakir is trying to make us understand , the media and the west has tried to project muslims in the wrong way. And most of the crimes which have been projected to be committed by the muslims are not true. Like 9/11 was an inside job but the media projected that muslims were responsible.
