The heat just makes your muslce relax a bit and therefore easier to work with but stretchin after a bath will do the same.if people feel great fantastic but be honest people respect that morei may try bikram myselfbut i am not leaving intelligence and scrutiny at the doorif i am respectful and kind i can and should question everything..by the way the way something makesyou FEEL is just that a feeling not exactly what is going on ..anyone who does not trust science has never practised science

Good way to meet girls? I'm thinking about taking this as a class.

I have run marathons and my first bikram class yesterday KILLED me. try it before you bash it.

@tootoo1upper Are you f-ing kidding me???? Obviously, you haven't been practicing consistently ;-00

@jfitzsimmons2 That is true. See the world through your own eye. Modern society doesn't want that. So glad for this comment. Cheers and good day!

@tootoo1upper Maybe try Bikram first... I don't even know why you've made any comment in the first place. It's yoga. Its peaceful and gives you incredible energy. Also relieves stress like crazy. Look at Bikram. a man his age shouldn't look as good as he does. You know How he got his green card by chance? Read his book, might help you with your incredible negativity on something you've, obviously, never tried. it's a natural form of health and wellness

obviously if you don't think this causes more calorie burning than normal yoga then you have never done either. I went to my first class not long ago and my heart was racing through out many of the poses, & may I point out that I am a relatively fit person. Also any athlete will tell you, your muscles respond better in warmer conditions than in colder. I don't know about any kind of detox, but using your body in that way, sweating that much & feeling yourself get stronger is extremely cathartic

@tootoo1upper try looking at the experienced teachers. they're unbelievably fit, high spirited, firm, positive, and have lives outside yoga. they also don't crap on about chakras and other superstitious nonsense
if that's absolute bullshit, sign me up to absolute bullshit

@tootoo1upper I'm not sure what all is claimed as the benefits.. but sweating is one exit for toxins.. and humid air is good for cleaning your lungs. It's not complete bullshit.
I love how people come out of their way to bash this yoga on a YouTube video. Anyone who practices it knows it feels great and their doubts disappear. Those who say the hot room doesn't make you more flexible. Really? Try to touch your toes in a 60 degree room, then try it in a 105 degree room. Read all the textbooks and journals you want, but don't knock it until you've tried it.

@missvandenis textbooks and journals are the obvious answer, most texts on exercise physiology have sections on thermoregulation as well. The literature is as clear as day: hot yoga does not cause more calorie burning, 'stretchier' muscles and ligaments or detoxification of any kind.
