Sights and Sounds: Mariners spring training

Video footage of Seattle Mariners spring training in Peoria, AZ, shot on March 13, 2008. Two training segments are shown. The first involves infielders taking outfield relays and trying to hit some buckets at home plate with their throws.

The second involves outfielders having to track down three pop-ups simultaneously. Ichiro takes the first three, Jeremy Reed the next, then Raul Ibanez and Wladimir Balentien. The last guy, Reed, catches a pop-up after starting from a prone position on the ground.

and besides Reed isnt a power hitter. He plays great defensive baseball and is one of the top ourfeilders in the game, and he gets on base enough to make an impact on the team. He really should be starting centerfeilder permanently.
