The Rand Corp is but one entity in a long list of mostly tax exempt think tanks funded and controlled by globalist (otherwise known as anti-American) interests. Think tanks have a history of co-opting the finest efforts of good people with profoundly ethical intellectual knowledge and proceeding to implement exactly the reverse of what formulations would promise the correction of national conflicts and social problems. They are no longer credible instituions. They are a problem, not a solution.
Medicare is identified as a single-payer plan. Let's not omit federal Veterans Administration and sneaky state Worker Compensation schemes as also single-payer. Add them together and examine the corporate influence in such matters. The distinction between taxpayer premiums and employers worker compensation 'premiums' passed on in salary and benefits reduction (a form of taxation on workers) is handily blurred. Make no mistake, worker compensation is an insurance conglomerate 'single-payer.'
I just wrote a letter to my congressman, urging him to improve our health system, and I haven't lived in the US for 4 years (though still a US citizen). If I can do something, so can you. If you walk out Sicko hoping that you'll get better health care, but then do nothing, then you will have wasted the momentum created by this film. You must act now if you want change!
