  • Boo "naw-dah-luh" It was "nuh-duh-luh-nyaeh"... Still loved doing this,,,

  • Were these warm ups converted into a song?

  • omg i miss all state soo much Mrs. Buchanan was the best ever..

  • I find it hilarious we had 3 people on one side and seven on the other.

  • @iamthecube Then let's see if we can get something really spectacular. Listen to Chanticleer's 2.5 minute "solo" if you get the chance. If you can hear the screaming tones above the chord's moving parts, they sound like a wineglass, and you can get two or more going at once above this cloud of harmonic dissonance and freedom. Oh, it's so uplifting. If you listen to good barbershop, the 5th voice overtone is the same thing, but in this case is just crazy beautiful. It was wonderful with you guys.

  • @iamthecube I didn't mean to rant, and frankly, I'm glad you have that kind of ability, but if you get the chance to do this song again, see what happens when all 6 or 8 or ten people get on the same wavelength. The select choir of forty I did this with didn't have the presence that the 360 of us did (duh, we're all-state), so overall states performed the whole better, it's just me being a pissy perfectionist. If we can get a reunion of this chorus (which Buch is working toward) cont...

  • @moxie732 Someone didn't study the music at all. Having performed this even before all state, the point of the soloists is to listen to each other, gradually changing the structure of the overtone chord, of which 12 different harmonic structures can be found in the back of the music. Done properly, and you can look up Chanticleer doing just that, the soloists listen, changing the structure bit by bit while maintaining various shapes. We were good, but not good enough, still it was fun.

  • @icyveins906 sorry about that. I was unaware that someone told me to listen to the other overtone people and create chords. I was under the impression that each overtone singer was to move about freely. And I only did amazing grace because that was my last allstate choir concert ever so I thought I'd have a little fun with it. But anyway, other than ruining this song for you, I think the whole concert went fairly well. =)

  • you guys sound great! i miss doing this :( all state 07 and 08 <3

  • Man, we can't even compare to Chanticleer. Too bad our one overtone soloist (out of ten hidden in the balconies including me) wouldn't stay still at all with his overtones. We couldn't get the ringing overtone chords to set off a really loud one. SOB, we told you to listen and tune, not go off like you thought you were "Amazing Grace Boy." Still, I will never forget this. It was awesome.
