Tarot cards do not come from Egypt, have no genuine connection with Kabbalah, and they were not intended for fortune telling.
The tarot deck was created in 15th century Italy for playing a card game similar to bridge. It was only in the 18th century that it began to be associated with the occult.
Tarot games are still played today in Europe, especially in France. Many of the players today are using a more modern looking deck with spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs and the trump pictures have very different scenes than the fortune telling decks.

  • Seems like you are trying far too hard. Just play your games and leave the rest of us alone. Why do you care what others do with their cards? Also, I'm pretty sure that Ronald McDonald is a copyrighted image. You should probably make your own image, if you're going to go ahead with forcefully educating the masses that don't care one way or another.

  • @waywardtitania I don't care what others do with the cards. But I want people to understand they can enjoy tarot cards without the psychic and tarot reading dogma because they were really made for games. There are other ways to have fun with tarot besides tarot reading.

  • @tarot4games Are you Japanese? If so, could you tell me why so many Japanese have a fixation on Ronald Mc Donald´s image? I remember once I saw a Mc Donalds commercial shot specially for Japan with ppl. dressed as the character in it.

  • @LithaQuell No, Mexican American. In Japan Ron McD is funnier than the American one.

  • Well, everyone already knows this, even people in the "occult community" -- except for the Crowley followers, but they're just teenager who never grew up. It doesn't matter that the Tarot was created as a card game. By definition, anything can be used for divination. Tea Leaves, the lines in your palm, playing cards. None of these were CREATED for divination. Heck, you can read your zits if you want to.

  • @GStanton1965 Not everyone knows that tarot was made for games. It matters if you want to play card games with tarot.

  • @tarot4games Life is a game! You can use the cards to play in it or to reveal it. You choose!

  • The funniest thing is to know that the guy who played Ronald Mc Donalds for years repented the time he worked promoting the 'meat industry' and that´s because he became a vegetarian for the sake of animals.
