I don't think the GPU is the bottleneck for world updates. That's most likely your CPU and RAM speed. I doubt Minecraft does any fancy GPU calculations regarding game logic. :-)

Not worth it. You work on such small scales... a massive floodgate with one row that you can run down and place bonemeal is MUCH better.

Works perfectly :) Thank you!

@MinecraftingStuff Ooh that mushroom farm sounds awesome! can't wait to see it!

Nice..gonna try this

You good sir are a mine-crafting genius!

This farm is amazing. it is one of the most inventive, intuitive and simple (in a good way) designs I have seen for a long time.

Hey, when are you going to upload a tutorial on how to build this, i really want one, this is soo immense!
-
Wow. This is the first video of yours I have seen and just from this, I have liked it and subbed to you. This is probably the best seed/flower 'farm' i have ever seen. Ever. I love that it does not rely on a glitch (that will probably get fixed in 1.7), I love that the items don't go to one place, so you don't have to pick them up all at once, I love that there are no water currents that result in the grass eventually 'dying' and I LOVE that it is so simple! Please do a tutorial! Thanks so much!

Now that I built this, I could probably cover my entire world with flowers. xD
And I can't wait for that mushroom farm! ^^
Hoooooooooooly shit is all I have to say to this. I'm not going to pass this up. How does the redstone system get the name 1-clock or 5-clock though? I don't understand that.

@SoYouThinkYouCanRock I can't say for sure, but I know it has to do with the pulse length. For example, a 1-Clock will produce a signal that is on for 1 tick, then off for 1 tick. If I am not mistaken, a 2-Clock will be on for 2 ticks, then off for 2 ticks, and so on.

Feed the seeds to chickens! :D

@davepoint Now that I think about it, that'd be really cool. If a chicken had a 1/8th chance of producing an egg each time you fed it a seed...
That'd be about 1 chicken spawned per 64 seeds, which sounds balanced to me.

That is the best thing I have seen in a long time. And relatively simple. I love it. And it's not based on a glitch! I can see Notch toning down the amount of grass that grows, but that won't make this any less awesome. I am already envisioning a mushroom farm that I can harvest with the flip of a switch.

@slackathor The only thing I see as an issue is if Notch made flowers not grow in inhospitable conditions... Which makes sense.
As for the mushroom farm, I will shortly post a showcase of the one I built this weekend! It's VERY easy to harvest!
