Head to head competition Moviestorm compared to Xtranormal State Plus. We were given the same outline for the plot and allowed to write our own scripts. I spent about 20 hours on this video. It is rendered in 1080p with 30fps and is 113MB. The programs I used were; Moviestorm 1.5, AVS Video editor, AVS Audio editor, Adobe Fireworks, Balabolka, Textaloud, SnipIt and Xtranormal State Plus. Extra video clips and audio purchased through www.videoblocks.com. Normally, I would have used MorphVOX and recorded all the voices. However, Glenn wanted me to use TTS for the challenge. I will be redoing this with recorded voices ASAP. So please come back to watch and listen to this clip again. Here is the URL to Glenn's XN video, which I highly recommend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EH2VFxJ6yv8

  • wow.

Some very cool things there that it appears moviestorm can do that STATE does not? Like opening doors/elevator door, etc.

the walking is a bit slow/unrealistic, but I guess that's par for the course in these types of software packages?

  • @bigjohn1962 The walking is totally controlable. You can have them walk slowly, fast, on their toes, the gait is adjustable. You can even have them walk with a varied gait. They can even walk like zombies. So your guess that the slow walking was par for the course in not accurate. Thank for the comment and I hope you give MS a try. They do have a 14 day free trial.

  • Nicely done, Ralph! I'd love to give Moviestorm a try, too, but I guess it's not free anymore. :-(

  • @Neferkit1 If you like telling stories through animated video, then give MS a try. They have a free 14 day trial.
