Shah Rukh did not complain about the fact that he was detained. He did not ask for it to be broadcasted and made into a big deal. He did not ask for tv channels to keep high-lighting it as the headline of the week. He did not even mind because he knows its procedure. He called the indian mp for help, and knowing how stupid the indian media is, they of course like to lap these stories up and create a big tamasha

SRK does not need any cheap publicity to promote himself or his movies

ALOT of his films have become the biggest blockbuster in the history of indian cinema, they've become blockbusters all over the world. Did he need publicity stunts? NO.

he didn't ask for questionning, so how could that be for puplicity. Also having a deal with fox is enough, and he is working for 20 years and he also works for his fans not people who don't know him, he has wax statues in London and paris, he got a french honor, doctorate from England, he doesn't need any puplicity. We all already know about his movie and FOX was gonna distribute the movie in USA, so he didn't need any more. Also this happens to many Muslims, are they also looking for puplicity.
