@smad333 Just a bit more, I am trying to make a stand alone module and not use the power adapter but when powering just using GND and 3.3V connections the leds light up but I don't get anything from the serial. With plug power I get only gibberish from the serial even though I've checked baud etc..not sure what to do, might try a logic level converter
