In the time of Muhammad(saw) a enemy got caught while he was spying on the Muslims in Medina. The man was leader of a tribe and had he's own army, the Prophet(saw) ordered him to be bound to a pillar in the mosk for 3 days. After the 3 days the man was yelling that he would come back and kill them all, the Prophet(saw) said release him and let him go. The man did walk until they couldn't see him and then a bit later he started to go back. He said i didn't want any to believe that i was forced.

To a certain extent, I was being facetious.
