Texas A&M will playing on its home course when the Aggies host the NCAA Women's Golf Championship at The Traditions Golf Club in Bryan, Texas this week. The Aggies will be playing in the NCAA Championship for the 2nd consecutive year and sixth time in school history.
The Aggies had to rally on the last day of the West Regional to finish in the top eight teams and earn a spot in the championship field. Texas A&M, which finished second to Texas in the Big 12 Championships, has a young team that has continued to improve.
The Traditions Course is over 7,000 yards in length and can be a difficult test.
The opportunity to host the NCAA championship on its home course should provide a boost to the A&M program, regardless of how it fares in the NCAAs that will be held this Wednesday through Saturday.
The A&M coach said that the pressure of trying to qualify for a national championship being played on their home course put the Aggies under pressure at the regional. Now she says they can relax and just play golf.
