Craftsman Racing lawn mower

this is a video of me messing around on a rainy day....in this video i show that it can go fast and at the same time be geared to the point where it can mud bogg...i have clocked it with a gps/car and down hill wide open it can reach 45ish and with the gov on the throttle it can do like 33 somthing
in order to get it wide open with out the gov you have to manaully lean forward and pull on the carb assembly which i didnt do in this video.[should have] will later.

doing 40mph on a qaud is okay
doing 40mph on a mower is FUN.

dont get me wrong quads are great just understand a mower is very unpredictable at speeds that its not made for.lol



i title my videos 'Racing lawn mower' cause that is basically what it is.
its not an official uslmra racing lawn mower
i dont have the money/time to come out to races and break parts and do it at my own exspense, so i am what you call a back yard basher....i could make it under uslmra code easy
but i dont see too much fun with all of the rules...dont get me wrong it would be cool.

I noticed that you have a gearshift lever between your legs and another one on the fender. This is a little confusing. Is the stock transmission still there just with a modified shifter, or is it a special gearbox.

The one between my legs is the gear shifter and the one on my right is the brakes. its hooked to the trans break.

so how exactly did you do this becasue i have the same mower..... did you put a bigger pulley on the engine and a smaller on the trans.??

If you tie a string onto the throttle on the carb you can get max rpm's instead of leaning forward and moving it with your hands.

@dylanbab6 the trans axle only has ONE pulley. you need to stay in the same parameter of diameter pulleys most common clutch movement is little to nothing, however is you change belts then you can run extreme differences from whatever you want. I use a thick ass v belt from napa.

@TRX700XX4ever replace the pulleys on the transaxle, their usually about a 7-9 inch, replace it with a 3-4 inch and a new belt and youll add about 20mph to your speed limit, and to get more speed, replace the pullet under neath the motor as well, but you want to make that one a bigger pully so about 9 inch and up just remember dont make your belt tooo tight our ur clutch wont work
