Black billows of smoke caught the wind out of the north. I jumped on my bike and made my way to the fire.
Police and Firemen were on the scene by the time I arrived at the 10200 block of Franklin Avenue.
The ladder unit sprayed a constant stream of water behind the building where flamable material was burning. A resident of Franklin Park said, "It smells like wax."
Eastbound traffic was diverted from Franklin Ave north to Lincoln Street by the Franklin Park Police.
It was one of the first nice days of the season and the fire provided a opportunity for the police to get out of their vehicles.
Train traffic was halted during the blaze since the fire was not far from the tracks.
The fire was quickly contained and extinguished.

Absolutely stupid place to park the medic, ESPECIALLY at a possible HazMat fire. Not surprising looking at who's driving, put the pizza down and step away!
