Windows Phone 7 changes the way applications are loaded into memory and mitigates a significant choke point - there are both asset load and memory management changes. As a result, applications load dramatically faster as shown here. The Samsung Taylor development phone on the left is running the OS patch which will be released in the coming months, the phone on the right is not.

  • By any chance do you have the full video to upload? I want to know what he was going to talk about at the tail end of the video, involving other under the hood improvements and what they saw after rolling out the update to real world phones...

  • @simbadogg Sadly this is the entire video, but he goes on to say that all the other updates are in the minor category and won't have a measurable improvement. We also asked about JavaScript and browser changes, of which there apparently aren't any speed improvements.
