Our resident Archaeological legend is fresh, (well not so much fresh as gin soaked) from his latest expedition through the DVD collection here at Archaeosoup Towers!

What wisdom has he gleaned? Today, 'Gin' looks at the portrayal of Picts in the movies!

  • @CanadienAtheist Interestingly, Kilts were invented by Northumbrians (the borders), not the Scottish! They spread and then the Northumbrians decided not to bother with them anymore!

Afterall why would ANYONE naturally wear a kilt in one of the coldest, wettest and windy places on the planet haha. Tartan cloth is certainly Scottish, banned during the Jacobite revolt, though 'clan designs' were born out of the C19th!

Even Haggis has it's roots in the North of England and not Scotland!

  • Lol.

    I love this series.

Hey wait a minute. If they were wearing trousers back then where did the kilts come from? I suppose they were mostly a formal wear?
