Prior to KUSA-TV, the "Mighty" KBTV broadcast on Channel 9 in Denver. This is a compilation of KBTV News & Station Promos from the late '70's/early '80's era when it was an ABC affiliate, then youthfuls Ed Sardella & Mike Landess were the main news anchors & helicopter SKY9 was EVERYTHING to BRAG about! Enjoy the ancient cast, some of whom are no longer with us, most of whom have long left Channel 9, but all of whom were young once with the exception of Carl Akers, of course! (Was he EVER young?)

  • I used to direct the weekend news at KBTV in 1975 - 1976. I still have my We One! t-shirt.

  • I remember living in Colorado during my childhood in the late 70's and early 80's; my parents watched KBTV News (long before it became KUSA) consistently. As an unassuming three/four year old, I focused more on visual graphics, music, and the personalities involved more than the stories themselves....

  • @EricEbac22 Amazing.

They still got the stripes on their logo to this day as K*USA! Their current logo launched in '84 replacing the Kabel Bold logo (1976-84) shown on the vids.

Most of these clips were actually from 1979 up through 1982, the first few years after KBTV became a Gannett owned and operated station.
