  • nice u-turn on rt.28. did you get any looks from the ferrari dealership? sounds nice. surprised you didn't get pulled over considering that area is flooded with pigs.

  • Yeah, definitely have to be careful around there.

  • just by chance was this video made in minnesota?

  • is that a 400

  • my dad was a used car manager in detroit - many trade in's - ive had a 66gp - 68 gp 428 stick ,hood tach factory headers - 74 gp ,69 gto,2-72 gto's - 73 gp455 with 18k all in the early 80's - i told my dad we should b saving all these rare trade-in's - sell it ,sell it,, he always said,,take the cash,,, well now when he see's these auctions on TV - i just give him a " I told u so " look !

  • I love those Pontiacs! This is a great video to share that great torque Ponchos have. Thank you!

  • @428sj Thanks for giving me my "learn one thing new everyday" I never knew that. I guess I owe you now. In case you didn't know the 69 Buick 400GS Skylark is actually a 401. The laws in effect for the category that car fell in, 400 was the highest CI motor allowed. They named it the 400 and no one payed any mind to it but in reality it was a 401. Thanks again, always willing to learn something I didn't know. BTW the GP'S of that era were smooth and fast. Friend had one, I had the 73 in black

  • NEVER FORGET... a 428 Pontiac is really a 427.6 (a 427 guys)!

  • @METH3454 my friend gave me a ride in his 69 gp 428ho in 83. I've had 440+6 & 454 but not as memorable as the crazy-fast, bone-stock 428HO.

  • And for anyone wondering, yes you can put a TH350 converter on a TH400 with no mods, and have a 2200 stall speed instead of a 1800. These things have so much torque they probably don't need an extra 400rpm launch out of the hole. If you'r already blowing the shit out of the tires it's just gonna do it more, LOL.

  • The stall speed on a stock converter on a TH400 tranny is 1800rpm (TH350s are 2200). If the converter stall speed was higher than 2150rpm, say 2500, then this car is going to start at least at 2500rpm when punched even from the lowest speeds. THESE THINGS HAVE SO MUCH LOW/MID TORQUE, THAT I KNOW IT SEEMS MUCH HIGHER THAN A 2150 LAUNCH. But it takes this baby less than 2 seconds to go 20-40mph (which doubles the 2150rpm). So it's only at 2150 for a millisecond before it's at 3000rpm.

  • @MurPaDiLos Assuming his tires fairly are close in size to mine, from 20 he should be at about 2150rpm when he punched. I base this on my 3.23 axle 73 Grand Prix turning 2353 at 60mph in 3rd (1.00) in a 73 magazine test. My tach is accurate because that's exactly what it turns. 1st (2.48) turns 2.48 times more-5835 at 60mph. At 30mph the rpm would be cut in half of 60mph (see where I'm going?). Mine turns 1945rpm at 20mph in low. With this car in the vid having a 3.55, that raises it to 2150rpm.
