Chaining pets in the backyard is not what our best friends deserve. They get lonely and crave for human affection while exposed to extreme weather conditions. Bring your four legged family members indoors.

No such thing as an "inside or outside dog." You take the time and effort to train your canine friend manners and how to behave. People who don't show their new canine friend how to act end up with a wild child on their hands. THIS is why most end up in the yard on a chain. The human didn't take the time and the cute little puppy grows up out of control. A dog is not a lawn ornament. If you don't have the time to properly train an animal then you don't deserve to have one.

as long as you don't keep her chained up shes fine. We mostly keep our 4 big dogs out side, and they have dog igloos, and nice comfy beds. And their happy as can be, just in the summer if where you are gets hot make sure they have ways of keeping cool. Out dogs have a large kiddy pool and a mister on the front porch. :) and we constantly put ice cubes in their water.

Believe me i'd love nothing more than to cuddle with him but he's 7 and always prefered being outside.

Yes and no, you should allow her to come in more often but if you find she likes to be out they during the day, give her all her needs such as Jensine2000018023 says they do for their dogs. But imagine what it's like for her, I'm sure she could like the open space but when it comes the time when it wants to even just cuddle with you by the tv and she cant that's not very nice at all because who likes to be lonely.

there is nothing wrong with chaining up a dog outside when you are away. I dog should not live their entire life on a chain, but from my own experience, they would rather spend the day outside rather than inside (which you could call a cage). At least they might be able to come in contact with a squirrel or bird, rather than having to sit in a lonesome empty house. Dogs are meant to be outside. Dogs love fresh air!

Your comment is sort of unnecessarily sarcastic and rude. People are here to share and learn. I'm sure you weren't born or raised to do everything politically correct and perfect. Most domesticated pets would prefer to be inside, but there are some breeds and species that actually prefer to be outside, especially if their people spend a lot of time outside. Whether it's an outside pet or an inside pet or both, it doesn't deserve to be chained, caged, neglected or forgotten.

Me and my friend tried to free a dog from a chained life when we were in Portugal, he was guarding an abandoned house and was quite skinny. We called him Gunner (he was a German shepherd cross we think) and after we untied him he walked with us for a bit, we were trying to lead him into town because a lot of the Cafes there often adopt dogs, but he wouldn't follow us all the way and we didn't want to drag him, so we had to give up.

And I suppose the igloos, and mister, along with the kiddy pool and ice cubes make up for the lack of attention they would otherwise have. RIIIIIGHT I can just see the igloo, playing catch or chase, and the little ice cubes. The kiddy pool will make sure there are no hotspots in their ears, and that the coat is snarl-free. I'm sure the comfy bed will bring comfort in scary weather too. ARRRGH Go APPEASEyour conscience in some OTHER way. I'm NOT buying it!

Anyone who thinks a dog on a chain feels fine needs to enclose him/herself in an 8x8 room, with no entertainment, a fresh bowl of water in the morning, (and no more if it spills) no pillow or bedding, no tv, or communication, no interaction with others, Try duplicating what you want for your dog for 1 week and see if you still feel the same. Chain your dog?..you don't DESERVE a dog.
