Shoshana's belt is strong, and out of character her personality is great but she relies so heavily on her riffing that the delivery of her songs and the character she's trying to portray suffer. Julia, on the other hand, doesn't need to riff to turn Elphaba into a complex, multi-dimensional character who's astounding to listen to.
Julia sounds like the Wicked Witch of the West. If you're calling her a goat, you're calling Margaret Hamilton and the character of Elphie a goat. Learn some manners.

@Elphaba88 I agree with you! I miss the Days of SJA, Julia Munrey, Sho, Kerry....etc! :)
I love how not many Glee fans have found out these performances and are arguing with the wicked fans about the performance! I've been a fan for 5 years now and Julia is one of my all time Favorite Elphaba's - Perfect portray of the character and what a Voice! :)

While I like how Julia is more witchy than most Elphabas, I don't think Elphaba (in Wicked) should be like Margret Hamilton in Wizard of Oz. B/c afterall, Wicked is trying to show a completley different side of the character of the Wicked Witch of the West.

@gazvinder
I never noticed that! Aww, I really love Kendra. Others may sing the part with prettier voices, but Kendra pwned that role. Her voice was perfect for Glinda.

I know the story behind the hook hands that Julia uses but I just noticed she uses them in DG also.

What's the story?!

@DivaBehavior Marguerite Hamilton who was the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz inspired her so she decides to do the hook hands to make the character more like the witch.

@shaqman145
I do remember Hamilton's iconic Witch having some strange fingers. Usually I don't like it when actors "copy" their predecessors in the role, but it fits because Julia is a genius actress.
