Antonio Mascolo was born in Naples, Italy, in 1981. He started to study classical guitar as a child and eventually went on to study under the renowned master Aniello Desiderio. In 2001, He graduated from the Conservatory of Music in Benevento, with the highest grade, having been awarded the "cum laude" and a special mention. In 2002, He was awarded "the best graduate of the year" by the conservatoire.
He also attends musical interpretation classes given by Angel Romero , Marco Socias and David Russell.
Antonio has won several prizes at international and national guitar competitions.

He was invited to the "International Guitar Festival of Mantova", where he performed in the presence of Alirio Diaz, receiving unanimous critical acclaim and audience, in 2002.
In 2007, He took part in the association of "David and Maria Russell Right Profit", which is organized evey year in Citta' della Pieve in Italy, by David Russell.
His first album "Dune" has published with the most widely-known italian classical guitar magazine "GuitArt" in 2009. By the special request of Angel Romero, one composition of this album is dedicated to him.
Mascolo has composed and recorded soundtracks for films, working with directors such as Marco Tullio Giordana among others. He performs extensively as a soloist, and also in chamber music and jazz groups.
