- Shot with Canon Vixia HF100 and Raynox 0.5X Wide Angle adapter.

- Edited in Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9, using Magic Bullet to do some very minor color correcting.

Thoughts: I'm not the best at picking music to go with the video so please forgive. I'm still trying to pick up that talent some some Vimeo users have of matching just the right music to the video they're posting. But that's another topic.

My main thought is what crap this wide angle adapter is. The image quality is just horrendous. I think that after this I will never use it again and may sell it cheap on eBay for those that want a cheap wide angle (it's BRAND NEW damnit!). Anyways, this weekend I'm going to try and re-shoot without this adapter to show the difference.

My main beef with this adapter is the bad distortion you get and poor image quality: softness, fuzziness, etc. even when wide opened like you're suppose to use it. Oh well, I hope my experience is useful to you and that you don't waste money on this adapter. Maybe the more expensive Canon wide angle is better but stay away from this!

  • Thank you for the video. I have a Canon HF200. What wide angle would you recommend then?

  • I would say to first, check out some test videos using the Canon wide angle lens. And then maybe the pro version of the Raynox. View the video in full screen and make sure the author didn't do any post production. Only then can you make a good decision.

If I saw something like this first I wouldn't have bought the lens.

  • lens name? :)

  • RAynox DVR-5002. It sucks. Don't get it.

  • Hi, which Raynox model are you using?

    XL-5000PRO or HD-50505PRO?

  • Actually, I think it's the DVR-5002. I think the quality completely sucks. Good thing I didn't pay a lot of money for this lens. I haven't used in on the camera in real life since making some test shots. Way too much degradation in image quality. It's like have a pantyhose over the lens... if that's the effect you want, then this is good for you. But not for me.

  • Good to be here

  • Damn I miss the time when I was studying there... love it!

  • This did not get the beautiful places and the quality is bad, too dark. Take it when the sun is shining, the leaves are gone, and the place is in full swing. 'Sorry, but not a great one.

  • Home to some of the hottest women in San Diego. The campus size is really deceiving from the highway. I like the palm trees and Spanish look of the campus. The koi pond is also a nice touch.

  • that bridge is the coolest place for students.. they will breath hell of a good carbon monoxide
