from bgjw episode 8. (apologies for the LQ)

"One person always perceived as manly and athletic in media is my rival Evan, whereas I'm portrayed as the artistic gender bender. The whole argument of masculine and feminine in figure skating, it seems very silly to me, but I think I'm judged very harshly on the fact that I'm not masculine. I think Evan plays the game very well in terms of what's PC and what's not. He gets sponsored by people because he's somebody that conforms and somebody that's easy to deal with. Maybe he's a bigger man than me because he can do that, but I definitely don't see any point in playing by the rules."

  • they're both hot as hell

  • he looks like a girl but sounds like a man. he needs a girlfriend

  • please help me

the top gear video 1:14 what season are???

  • Some people misunderstand Johnny here.... Obviously he is NOT criticizing Evan. He's just stating some situations - it's true that sometimes being more masculine (or the style most people like) is easier. Don't quote him out of context!

  • I respect Johnny very much as an artist and person, but I dont think he should dismiss others by saying they are "conformists." He should consider that Evan has his own style and isn't trying to play by any rules. Evan has the right to be who he is just like Johnny does.

  • they're both great - but how can you direct your art ? I think the art must find it's expression. Thre is nobody even remotely like Johnny - can you imagine skating without him?! Evan too - is his unique self with his own style. Via la difference!

  • It’s obviously that Lysacek has a different style than Weir, he likes suits and Weir likes it flashy! To criticize somebody who has a different style than you and at the same time to whine about beeing not respected for the own style is just stupid!

Weir should take responsibility an stand as it is assumed at the competitions in the last time.

  • Lysacek won against Plushenko in Vancouver and Plushenko was very musculine and Lysacek was much more feminine and he won Gold not Plushenko! So how can it be that judges just want to see masculine skaters? Lysacek had feathers at one of his outfits and after the Olympics there was a huge discussion about his „gay“ outfits! So if the judges had prejudices in this direction why won Lysacek Gold?

  • While I like both Johnny and Evan, I have to agree with what Johnny is saying here to some extent. Evan isn't necessarily "conforming" as he suggests, but I have always felt as if Johnny gets harsher judging than most of the other skaters. He still skates and places wonderfully, though, so he should be proud that he can overcome those biases and do so well!

Either way, good luck to the both of them. :)
