I wonder what the torque rating is -- it has to be astronomical. As for the eight wheels, obviously the car does not leave a cloud of smoke when it blasts away at wide open throttle... power is evenly distributed among all wheels and does not exceed the road gripping ability of the tires. A tire-smoking launch may look good, but it's a waste of energy since it does little to propel the car, and the Japanese engineers who designed this car wanted it to be as efficient as possible.
