Hello everyone! In this video I am demonstrating how to do a proper lunge. When doing a lunge exercise it is important for you knee not to go past your big toe to avoid future knee injuries. Lunge exercises tone your thighs which include the quadriceps (front muscles) and hamstrings (back muscles) and your glutes (butt) which we all want nice and firm! To kick up the workout, simply hold some dumbells in your hands. Happy training!

  • Oh, and I'm 29, 5'4" and only weigh 119...I did research : ) And am an avid gym gal.

  • Ice Queen is right in the aspect of 2 things... a Proper lunge should start with feet hip width apart...try to do one shoulder length apart...I didn't try, but placed my feet there...just to do it. It's just silly feeling, and looking. Second, your knee should NOT pass your ANKLE. Keep it at 90 degrees or risk hurting your knees, then you won't be working out at all :)

  • hello lovely la.. *cough perverted old men *cough

  • Great video, but its so annoying how you make that lip smacking noise while you talk.

  • i was checking out some exercise videos to plan some workout series/routine.... now, i cannot concentrate...

  • Holy crap.. Did you see the size of her thigh muscles when she stood up? *_*

  • the way she addressed me makes me feel bad as a guy who needs lunging advice...

  • that's not a kitchen?...

  • @IceQueen137 you're an idiot. and you probably weigh 1000 lbs. go eat another big mac you moron....

  • @IceQueen137 This is not an incorrect way to do a lunge either. Hip width and shoulder width are approximately the same, and one of the other will not negatively impact the exercise. She's also correct in that your knee should not go past your toe. You knee most certainly can go past your ankle, as the best place to put your knee is the middle of your foot. Having your knee behind your ankle can cause problems if there's too much strain similar to having your knee beyond your toes.
