A trip down memory lane here as Granada takes a look back at 20 years of the Albert Dock Studios in Liverpool. They closed down in July 2006 and the newsroom was moved into the Liver Building.

WARNING: Contains a fair whack of Richard Madeley.

  • So was the building only used as a Liverpool newsroom/satellite studio in its later years up until its closure?

  • @gottagothatsme Basically that was the case. The main building was always a newsroom/studio. All Granada News/Reports/Tonight bulletins came from there from 1986 until 1992, Granada Tonight moved back to Manchester in 1992, the other bulletins followed in 1998. It was This Morning's presence made the place quite infamous, but as the report showed Shop! was there for a few years. As I understand it ITV were happy to keep the station, but Littlewoods wanted out of the channel.
