I thought I would spend October introducing folks to a lot of lesser known horror movie classics. First up is a neglected Hammer film from 1971, Hands of the Ripper.
Lewis films sound garbage. But Hands of the Ripper... Wonderful Victorian Gothic. And the discussion between the psychiatrist and that sleazebag psycho-hater advocating rope around poor Anna´s neck... "You can´t cure Jack the Ripper and that´s what she is!" A Hammer Classic.
I never cared much for Lewis' films but I respect his place in history and 2000 maniacs is a fun, almost cartoonish movie. Alot of his films seem to end because they run out of money! lol.
first time i watched hands of the ripper i was about 11 , watching the film from behind my fingers on my own to scared to turn off the tv and one of only a few that realy got to me, But laughed my arse off when Dora Bryan gets a poker in her back through a door,
Great video. Hands Of The Ripper is a classic.
