I thought I would spend October introducing folks to a lot of lesser known horror movie classics. First up is a neglected Hammer film from 1971, Hands of the Ripper.

  • Lewis films sound garbage. But Hands of the Ripper... Wonderful Victorian Gothic. And the discussion between the psychiatrist and that sleazebag psycho-hater advocating rope around poor Anna´s neck... "You can´t cure Jack the Ripper and that´s what she is!" A Hammer Classic.

  • I never cared much for Lewis' films but I respect his place in history and 2000 maniacs is a fun, almost cartoonish movie. Alot of his films seem to end because they run out of money! lol.

  • first time i watched hands of the ripper i was about 11 , watching the film from behind my fingers on my own to scared to turn off the tv and one of only a few that realy got to me, But laughed my arse off when Dora Bryan gets a poker in her back through a door,
