@fastrobert2005 You cant really compare two vehicles based entirely on the motor. A foxbody mustang is completely different than a shortbed chevy truck in regards to weight and aerodynamics. I would easily lose a race in my 86 c10 to a car with the same roller 355 and gears etc.

Keep in mind, that 306ci was heavily modified. Had high compression, high flow heads, and very unique kinsler fuel injection set up. This is a completely different animal when compared to a bolt on 4.8L with a turbo.

Also if you were to put this 4.8L drive train in a 3200# car, It would run in the 9's no problem. This truck is easily 1500# heavier than a mustang.

Very impressive truck! Currently doing a 4.8/ 4l60e swap in my s10. Should be a screamer.

that 's good if its motor only and no power adders, i hate to burst your bubble,but a car called the "super trooper", a 1990 ford 5.0, with a 306c.i., went 9.38 @148, made 2 hp per cubic inch, on motor only, at a race weight of 3200#, from a place called powered by ford, here in orlando, florida, back in the mid 90"s, so to the real smart motor heads, thats not that impressive, exspecially that you are running a power adder.
