  • This movies' big mistake was not having one character you hoped WOULDN'T be killed, and quickly.

  • @pretorious700 Eulabelle!

  • Let's review, 1.Women have been brutally killed, including Hank's girlfriend.2. The professor has discovered sodium will kill said monsters. 3.Our intrepid hero, the wanna be scientist has to be shamed into calling ALL the chemical suppliers by Eulabelle the maid??

Well Hank, I can see your point, it's just too much bother over a bunch of murdered women. Heck, they should have made Eulabelle the star of the movie!!!!!!!!!

  • So, Eulabelle discovered how to kill the monsters, forced that idiot to try New York to get sodium, and figured out where the monsters were. In short, she was the only competent character.

  • *punches Hank and scientists* There should be a bigger effort to find these monters --- Ah well it is just old timey monster movie

  • Discussing the logic of this movie is like deciding which pile of dog crap has the nicest shape.

  • The deepest body of water and I haven't yet checked it. Those 3 girls were murdered there Duhr!

  • SODIUM!

  • So did any super fans make a news letter called the "S.O.L. Post"?

  • It's not that easy to test water for radioactive content :\ Most geiger counters couldn't do it.

Baaah why do I bother. WOO.

  • @s1lverfalcon Definitely any Michael Bay "film."

  • Another bone of contention, how was the sodium in that beaker that Eulabelle dumped even in liquid form. Sodium sets on fire the instant in comes in contact with water and I doubt it was that hot in a glass beaker to be melted. Following that logic he had to be using salt water or some other ionic form.

  • If these monsters are weak to sodium in particular why didn't they just burst into flames in the ocean? The metal was obviously in solution when Eulabelle spilled it on the arm so it should do the job even in ionic form. I'd say that everyone could have just prevented this and carried sea water or, hell, even just a solution of salt water with them. -_-

  • Uh...Why the hell did she drive to Fingal's Quarry alone and without a police escort?...Ah, yeah. That's right...Same reason why those air-headed girls earlier in the movie drove from a road and then into a middle of a forest...plot convenience.

  • Interestingly enough it's the main female characters that do the most good in this movie. Eulabelle basically makes the discovery that sodium will kill the monsters, and makes that whiner Hank call the chemical suppliers. Elaine, despite being stuck as the DLI, finds the most obvious hiding place for the monsters, while the scientists just search watery places at random.

  • Yea, I COULD call up the other people in the phone book for the sodium we need to kill the murderous fish-demons, but I'm too busy doing nothing...

  • OK. I officially think I've watched this one too many times. LOL.

At 0:20 the doctor is looking at a map of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island, but then at 5:11 the "young" guy says he can be in Manhattan in an hour. Am I crazy or is that accurate?

    Oh, and SODIUM!

  • @s1lverfalcon

No! a modern film would never feature a stereotype black person! We are living in the enlightened era of Big Mama's House my friend. And hip hop/rap culture luckily exists to further prevent white people from developing any preconceived notions regarding African American culture.

  • @trapadoored Ah, yes, the simpler days when black people in films were only subservient stereotypes, and female characters were really just a foil for the director to vent his sexual frustration.

...Wait, never mind. That could be any modern film.

  • "Will there be a meat break sir?"

  • Horror of Party Beach: The Adventures of Eulabelle

    I'd watch it.

  • I think there was an issue with the editing - say the montage should've come after the New Yorkers were killed - the sodium thing probably should've come a bit later...

  • Okay, so they found out sodium kills the monsters...WHY THE HELL HAVEN'T THEY USED IT ALREADY DURING THEIR ATTACKS?!

  • @boiledcrap

nowadays movies are big hollow crap fests devoid of any heart or soul. At least movies like this can serve as quaint reminders of a simpler era. Movies today can only serve as loud overpriced garbage you have to worry about going to if your unfortunate enough to be "in a relationship" with someone.

  • @hotpopcorncake Salt is Sodium Chloride, and very stable. Pure sodium reacts violently with water.

  • I'm confused the monster come from the sea which have some salt, and you can kill them with sodium?

  • U Thant always get what you want
