*** NEW VIDEO FROM MYLOW (now call Projectmagma on YouTube) ***

This page is a BACKUP From:
http://www.youtube.com/user/projectmagma

For more info see the official project website at:
http://MylowMagnetMotor.com

On March 17, Mylow posted a video that showed the motor starting (with his assistance), then accelerating and coming up to a constant speed.

Be vigilant and be discerning, it is possible some of this videos are fake and that the phenomenon presented does not reflect the factual reality. These videos are for entertainment only. Thanks.

  • excellent motor for hoaxing magnet motors

dont believe what this guy says

  • This is exactly the same part i have been looking for, if you could give me a link it wold be greatly appreciated.

  • It depends entirely on the motor design.

That's one reason I prefer using CD/DVD drive motor/bearing assemblies. They are relatively usually much easier to disassemble down to the shaft/bearing component without causing accidental damage. R/C hobbyists do it all the time.

They are also very cheap as you can scrounge them from discarded computers, or older CD/DVD drives discarded when people upgrade/replace the drive in their computer with a newer drive.

  • These motors do have nice bearings

The difficult part is that one may have to remove the moulded permanent magnet ring inside the motor assembly in order to keep those magnetic regions on the ring from causing drag on free-rotation of the bearing

These motors usually with a gentle push spin for ~5-10 seconds until the magnet ring is removed. After removal it may spin for perhaps 30 seconds with the same push

But it can be problematic to remove the ring without damaging the bearing assembly

  • this disk is the scanner disk for an optical laser scanner like the ones used for cash registers at the check out lines

this is one of the scanning disks that is used to scan the bar codes on the items
