Ron Lankford from Roland Corporation, is one of those "once in a lifetime" people you might be lucky enough to meet who profoundly influences your life. The positive impact Ron had on me in the two short years I knew him is only tarnished by how suddenly he was taken from us in March 2010. Ron loved the accordion and he loved what Roland was doing for the accordion. This little waltz is meant to be simple and elegant, like Ron, and is dedicated to his memory. Ron, we miss you.

  • Thank You for posting your beautiful tribute to my dad-in-law. He was an amazing man, we miss him dearly.

  • @melanielankford Melanie, thanks so much for noticing and for the nice comments. I have just released a new CD in Ron's honor, also called "Waltz For Ron" where both the solo and the accordion orchestra versions have been recorded. I will see Faith next week in LA. If anyone in your family wants a copy, please let me know. We will also be performing "Waltz For Ron" at the Roland Festival next week. I miss him dearly too. It was an honor to be his friend for the short two years we knew each other

  • Magnificent sounds. Soon I will be playing this piece frequently at the PDX International Airport as being a member of the Musical Entertainment Group.

    I miss Ron also.

Are all those sounds from the FR7x or are you using also an arranger sound module??

  • @gustolady55 Glad to hear that you will be playing it often. Yes, everything is coming from the FR7X and played live. No arranger or sound module.

  • Once again you share your beautiful talent and what a tribute to Ron. I met Ron twice when he came to Springfield MA and I also talked with him when I had some trouble with my Fr-7. He advised me and handled the situation very quickly and made sure that I was satisfied. he was a great guy and I wish that I would have known him longer. Your tribute to Ron is fantastic and I feel your passion when you play.
