Lions are a pack hunter, and they don't have a chance against a bull eland. As the author states "the lions bit off more then they could chew." Am I saying A male leopard weighing 160 to 260 lbs, is a more capable killer/hunter then a lion??? That's exactly what I'm saying. A Male leopard is a completely different story then a female leopardess. Male leopards attack an kill hyenas on occasion, can bring down adult zebras. Infact it was filmed a leopard bringing down a bull zebra. Forgot the documentary what was it? I think it could have been "Leopards of the Night", the documentary showing a male leopard take down a bull zebra. Well it happens all the time, filming leopards is tricky. But MALE leopards take down A LOT larger prey the leopardess's See people love saying lioness and lion. But people love to say Leopard when describing both male and female leopard. A female leopard, is a leopardess, not a leopard. IF your going to call a female leopard a leopardess, don't be biased and call a female lion and lioness then. Don't put leopardess's in the same class as Leopards. There much bigger, much stronger, and much more aggressive.

  • The video doesn't show that the lion didn't have the strength to take on an elam, it's just that the lion was too slow. And that's just ONE case. As another poster said, there are videos of leopards running up trees to hide from female lions, so I could imagine they definitely would not stand a chance against MALE lions.

  • hahaha you are blind or need a glasses???, look at the picture it was't a bull eland, Leopard killed a male kudu... just look the shape of the horns...

  • Excuse me, but it's impossible for a male leopard to kill a bull eland, unless it is young, old or injured.

  • I've seen a video were a lioness chased 2 leopards up a tree and stalked them for half a day. Even after she left the leopards stayed in the tree for a few more hours.

  • Lions and Tigers Ftw screw off leopards! >:(

  • why do people make these stupid videos? who cares if a lion can't kill an animal that a leopard can kill?? what are you going to achieve in life by saying, well a leopard can kill this but a lion can't....? grow up...seriously

  • That is a bull eland, not a kudu. Note the horn shape. @pixelrelated, male lions are devastating hunters. I watched one ambush and kill an impala in Ngorgoro Crater in 1988. Do a YouTube search for lions buffalo and see what the males are capable of.

  • this video SUCKSSSSSS

  • 1 male lion could take down a eland bull if it can get close enough
