Brewing technique and a lot of BLAB too, for the Clever Coffee Dripper. Yes, it's like an infomercial but without the entertaining foil of the naive rube in the audience. Boo! Anyway, this is a manual, pour-over drip brewer that has a stopper, so the hot water and coffee can infuse (like a french press) for however long you like...

  • Great video!

What kind of glasses are you using?

  • @Quickstrike04 It's a bodum double wall pint glass. I like it, but it's not one we sell...Tom

  • Just thought I'd chime in. I'm really appreciative of all the pour over videos of late. You may think they are wordy or dull but I think they're great and informative. I like the fine details you add about measurements etc I'm glad you have the time to do all of it. It makes me look again at what I'm doing to make sure I'm getting the most out of my ccd. Thanks again!

  • thanks dustin. i do agree i have been a little ocd on this as someone pointed out. just want to get to a place where i am consitently happy with the brews... tom

  • Love Sweetmarias!

  • Nice job and cool experiment on profiles. Always enjoy your insight and education.

BTW-what version of Hilo March is playing in the background at about 6min?

  • @katzparov I use the larger Melitta Portable so that I can easily make up to 48 oz of coffee.......Boil my water in the microwave..........Using the heated water from the water cooler........so that 16 oz boils at about 1 1/2 minutes......Otherwise it may take around 5 to 6 minutes to boil.

  • I just use a Melitta Portable drip ............I simply Plug the hole at the bottom with a stopper............Let the water and grounds sit for a few minutes, then pull out the plug and let it drain..........Then add additional water if making a larger yield.

Pretty simple method. I do this at my desk at work without any problems or complications. And it tastes great.

I've used this method for quite few years now.

  • @klarinetta Have you tried only 2:30 min steeping time ?

  • I just saw that on your homepage you instructions says to stir after 1:30 min and to let it drain at 4:00 but here it's 1 min and 3 min how come ?

I haven't used it a lot but had some pretty good results with an Organic Sumatra in it. I usually don't like too much earthiness in my cup but this makes for a very sweet cup.

I only had brown filter #4 around and even after washing it two times filling the cone I could taste the paper and I let it steep for 3 min.

  • Where can one purchase a Clever Coffee Dripper? This is very much the way I make coffee now but using the CCD would be more convenient for me.

  • 3:34 why do you like to stir the top of the liquid and not the bottom? what's the significance?

  • Sweetmarias is the absolute best green coffee on the Planet, hands down and believe me I have tried them all. From Coffeebeandirect to numerous ebay sellers, every local shop I could convince to sell me green beans. Home roasted Sumatra from sweetmarias will make you want to use Starbucks to fill potholes in the driveway ! I am not a sweetmarias employee, nor do I play one on T.V. Just a Loyal customer and patron. Absolutely positively the Best !!!!

  • @psalmbh Have not had great luck with Swissgold or similar filters. Allows fine particles through and also tends to clog the stopper mechanism...
