Mega Man 1 Special Weapons Only Challenge - Guts Man

And the lifts claim another innocent soul. Naturally, the infamous opening hazard of Guts Man's stage would be my first non-boss death. I'm actually pretty ashamed of that one. I'm usually better at the timing than that.

The rest of the stage is nothing special, though I soon discover a number of larger enemies are apparently immune to Rolling Cutter, which I had planned to use throughout the whole stage so I could save Fire Storm for Guts Man himself. It doesn't really help that I couldn't quite aim the scissors properly, which wasted a lot of ammo. I come really close to having to break out the Buster again, but thankfully, my Fire Storm supply held out just long enough to earn me Super Arm... though the whole ordeal cost me all of my gains from Cut Man's stage.

Why do people have so much trouble with those lifts? I passed them on my third try, and I'm 13.

dude cutman's power really sucks that much? lameness! gutsman is still awesome tho

In actuality, Gutsman's stage is just poorly suited for it. 10 hits against Met Miner at point blank, and 20 hits needed for Hopper (neither are immune).

In other stages, Rolling Cutter's clipping makes it particularly useful. You can also use the select trick (although Kayorei probably won't resort to it).

In addition, Hoppers shouldn't even be destroyed (why use up 5 Thunder Beams or Hyper Bombs?). Instead, one should Ice Slash them whilst they're in the air and run underneath.
