sorry to hear about your son. I had an AVM or AVM's back in 1990 when I was 22 and it all started with blurred vision then followed with a severe seizure, all within 30 minutes of each other. I first had surgery that removed the blood that leaked onto my brain that caused the seizure then one year later I had an operation that removed the AVM's or "entangled blood vessels" in my head. I'm now 40 yrs young and haven't had anything happen since but I always wonder if it's really gone for good.

Thank you for posting this vid.

My 13 year old son passed away from this anomaly (an embedded AVM)in 2005. He pretty much went from what we thought to be perfectly healthy to dead in about 6 hours. In his quick passing we have always searched for answers. We keep coming to the same conclusions as was the explanation of the neurosurgeon. The AVM that my Kevin had, was pretty much a death sentence.

I am so sorry for your loss! I can't even imagine the pain of your loss. I have an AVM and it caused multiple aneurysms to form. None bled. I have been getting different treatments for this AVM for the last ten years and still 1% of it hangs on. I understand that some AVM's, because of their position, are inoperable. I also had tremendous survivor's guilt, which really laid heavily on me. I am now in nursing school to pay it forward. So many haven't had good outcomes, I need to help others now.

Thank You for your kind words. It was startling to me that you wrote this now. Kevin's anniversary of his passing is April 24th. GOD Bless You for going for a medical career. Kevin's closest cousin is training to be a nurse to try and promote a cure for this condition. I guess I should also mention that Kevin was an organ donor and made a difference plus saved the lives of five individuals whom we think of as our extended family.

Kevin is my hero and we all miss him.

You're very welcome. I think it is amazing that you thought of others so quickly to allow for organ donation. I think YOU are awesome! Even within the pain of your loss you gave the chance for life to five others. Kevin is still giving, since he has provided the motivation for his cousin to pursure nursing! Kevin's cousin will, no doubt, touch the lives of MANY, having already learned compassion through empathy. May God bless your entire family!
