This is the first take. This is the elevator at the Power House. It is a Southern Elevator Co. with Square D fixtures. This elevator could be considered a death trap as it is well known around the mill that this lift breaks down regularly. Still this is ONE AWESOME ELEVATOR! In fact, there is a typewritten sign on the wall that is visible above the fire extinguisher from 1:20-1:21 it reads "in case of Malfunction: 1. DON'T PANIC! REMAIN CALM. 2 Sound Alarm for 3-5 Minutes by pressing button marked alarm. Release button, wait 3-5 Minutes for assistance. if no response Sound alarm again. Alarm sounds in elevator cab and in the control room. 3. DO NOT TRY TO EXIT THE CAB ON YOUR OWN! It can be very dangerous to leave the malfunctioning elevator on your own. WAIT FOR professional assistance to help you leave the elevator. 4. REMAIN CALM and DONT GIVE UP! Somebody will help you." Also the building contains steam boilers so it is VERY hot in the building and HOTTER in the elevator. Still I will have to rate the over all experience as AWESOME! It rode a little rough but it is definately old school. I have another take which i will upload in the next day or 2 the capacity of this elevator is 3000 Lbs

  • Most power plants are secure facilities. How did you get in?

  • how did you get in there?

  • Was that floor with the gate door a floor served by the elevator?

  • well, it was my last day at work so i figured the worst that could happen is i could get thrown off the property. however, i was talking to an associate that worked there about the view from the top and i asked her how easy it was to get up. she said, "just walk in the building make a left and a right and you will find the elevator. press the roof button. nobody should bother you as contractors go in and out all the time. one thing the elevator breaks down alot if it does, press the alarm."

  • i agree with rail mogul how did you get into this one thats a very cool elevator

  • how did you get access to it?

  • It is one of the "funnest" elevators i have ridden in a long time! even though it was probabaly 130 deg in there! It reminded me of a old movie kind of elevator!
