NOTE !!
This experiment has risks as flying shrapnel may be expelled from the CRT..

Firstly I didn't expect the reaction to go so vigorously and the pressure build up was excessive.
An electric 12 Volt igniter was used to trigger the chemical reaction.

Mix: 360 g KNO3 , 240 g White sugar , 50 g candle wax, 150 g iron sand.

I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (http://www.youtube.com/editor)

  • @WavyGravyTrain1 No, not yet.

  • I need to know how you put that together so I can do it myself for signal smoke use. I plan on using it safely but I need to know how you did it.

  • @TheRebelEye KNO3 (40%) sugar (60%) and candle wax. mixed well together.

  • Only ever release vacuum if YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

  • CRTs have a VERY HIGH vacuum and will IMPLODE with great danger of flying shards of glass shooting out everywhere. Don't fiddle with them as they can be dangerous.

The way to release the vacuum is to find the ultor connection - it's where the high voltage connection is - remove the plastic insulated cable, drive a 5mm diam. pin into the middle of the ultor connection. This 'unplugs' the ultor and releases the vacuum safely.

Implosions from CRTs can be NASTY. Be very, very careful of them.

  • @TheCrazyk1997 No you can't. Maybe where you live.

  • Dude You could get arested for doing that you know that right??

  • part reason for global warming???
