LS City Records (full details below) have put together a sampler to give you a little taste of what has been - and whats to come - from this exciting new Leeds label run by DJ and producer Jamie Fisher. It offers some chunky tech house ripe for underground dance floors everywhere, from huge international star and Toolroom man Richard Dinsdale, label boss Jamie Fisher, German duo Lissat & Viltaxx and Dutchman Benny Royal.
Do You Think About Me? from Richard Dinsdale starts with industrial ticks and whirls before jolting into action with a high tempo techy kick and rarely lets up from then on in. The ethereal tell me vocal allows you to catch your breath before the track drives off again into peak time tech house territory of the sort which will get fists pumping and feet stomping.
Next track Octagon has a thunderous, subliminal bottom end and comes to life with soaring synth lines, piston releases and frenzied percussion til it bubbles over into a heads-up slice of undulating, moody 4/4 of the sort to ignite any decent dance floor.
Thumping from the off, Hexagon treads a solid tech house path with glints of light coming from key stabs and plenty of twisted, driving percussion littering the middle ground. When the resounding chords ring out at the midpoint, things build to a tense break before bouncing along on hands-in-the-air passage of rolling beats. Its an underground slice of dance floor dynamite which will likely be lapped up by the likes of Dahlback, Deadmau5 et al. The remix is a gnarled, more silvery tech edged affair from Lissat & Voltaxx.
