Located at 306, Elvis Presley Drive (formerly Old "Saltillo Road").
Vernon Presley built this home in 1934 with the help of Vester, his brother and J.D., his father.
Vernon borrowed $180 from local land owner Orville Bean for supplies to construct the small wood frame house.
The house belongs to the "shotgun style", so-called because in theory a bullet shot through the front door would exit through the back door and not hit a thing!
Could you imagine a bigger difference between Elvis' birthplace and Graceland, which i visited just one day before??
