Here's Johnny Whitehill, 4 time winner of the British Blues Connections Guitarist of the year performing his version of the Albert King classic "As the years go passing by" with lead vocalist Bob Davison (The Poor Boys) This was recorded 2008 live at the Cluny for the forthcoming series of documentary films "Gettin' the Blues".

After 20yrs on the road with Paul Lamb and the Kingsnakes, Johnny moved back to his home town of Ashington in semi-retirement. This is a sample of what he has been doing since.
He is now back on the road performing around the North East with a band called The Real Deal (with ex-members of the Blues Burglars) so if you like the Guitar featured here Check out The Johnny Whitehill Band or The Real Deal.

Johnny Has long since been regarded as one of the best Blues Guitarist in the UK by Fellow Blues Artists and Fans, He started out playing in the North East of England with local famed Blues band The Blues Burglars(featuring Paul Lamb and Billy Sharp.)
He then left the North East to perform as lead guitarist with Paul Lamb & The Kingsnakes for 20 odd years winning all manor of awards recording several CD's including a solo effort in 1998 entitled "Guitar Slinger" on indigo records(still available to purchase on Amazon.) and making many fans all over England and Europe.
