Saw them in a little beer dive in Norfolk. Jay and Mark had left but they still were very good.

Got to see Spirit in Phoenix around xmas of 1973 at a High School Gym...Mr Skin on Drums and Randy played sitting on a bar stool...School pulled the power plugs at 10pm...prompting Mr. Skin to quip ...They wouldn't do that to Mozart would they. Must have been a curfew issue. Thinking someone in the band must have went to that high school???? I was on the last year of a 4 year hitch in the service at the time...hearing 7 Spirit songs made my Christmas!!!!

I think he's saying the name of the second song, a second-generation Spirit song, is "Hip Pro-teen Child," or something to that alliterance....

You got that right.........

In 1969 I liked Spirit, was somewhat familiar with all their stuff ar that time when my all time favoret band The KinKs played the Filmore East to open for Spirit..I came away a huge Spirit fan...the original line up with Jay is still my favorite though.

just FYI last Tuesday a new DVD of an old show with Spirit was released. Most of the songs were off the Spirit of '76 2 LP set. I still had that LP and got Randy to sign it for me at this show I shot and posted. The new DVD is excellent, it's on the SPV label and has a show he played on March 5, 1976 in Germany. Dickey Betts plays a couple songs with him too.

had the pleasure of hearing Spirit several times in the late 60"s...can remember Randy was a quite a showman on stage...he was leaping all over the place and playing his butt off...always a great band.

I hope to revisit my edit of this tape shortly and wouldn't be surprised if I couldn't get a new song uploaded from this show.
