Fiona Apple has such a bad rep, and it's tragic because she has such brilliant, cathartic lyrics. I'm a totally straight guy and I can empathize with her, that's how poetic and deep her songs are.
The under appreciated Dylan of our generation, IMHO.

@avwhite Well.... I like Taylor. She's a great songwriter, BUT when Fiona was 19 she was writing with "bigger words". Taylor is in country music. They like simple lyrics. Fiona is a bit avant garde and while a few songs are "commercial" enough, she truly is an artistic soul.
