Harvi Griffin was a great jazz harpist/ singer/ performer from Phoenix Arizona, and a great teacher for the younger people. This film was made by me in France during a harpseminair. On harp: Ghislaine Maclaine-Pont, On keyboard: Paul Stark
Film made by Gerard Wold.

Only ever will be ONE Harvi- - He stays "in touch" as only Harvi could have done.

Thanks for this. He played a hotel lounge (solos, and lots with two other instrumentalists), perhaps 1973 or 1974 in a midwest capital city (USA). I was not more than 11 yrs old. My parents enjoyed going to hear him play and brought me along. My favorite was Ebb Tide, which he played beautifully on the harp.
He was selling a record (LP) of his playing and I still have it.
Over the years, when I mention his name to older people in my city, many still remember this unique performer.

I'm looking for Harvi Griffin and the first thing i see is my first harp teacher playing the harp with him.
And indeed, Harvi impressed me very much with the workshop he once gave me in Haarlem, Netherlands. Indeed, a great Harpist.

Great pice. I was Harvi's road manager 10 years ago when I was 23 years old. I just found out a month ago that he died-"altered formed"-a term that he would often use when he spoke about death.

This is in France in the summer of 2001.
We love you Harvi and think that you are now teaching the angels how to play harp!
